Permitting Process

How do you obtain a permit?

A person who wishes to conduct activities that require a Forestry Authorization must complete the Forestry Authorization Notification Form, which can be submitted online or printed and submitted to the appropriate District office.

There is no fee to obtain a Forestry Authorization.

What happens after a permit is issued?

Forestry Authorizations become valid 48 hours after being submitted electronically or by mail.

Permittees receiving a Forestry Authorization are required to comply with recommended Best Management Practices as prescribed by the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.

The District may contact the land owner or agent if staff have questions related to the proposed activities or to determine if the activity has been completed. The District may conduct inspections of projects that receive Forestry Authorizations after all work has been completed.
