Hiring Process
The Northwest Florida Water Management District requires a completed Application for each position you are applying for. Applications will be accepted for identified open positions only. The District does not retain applications for future openings. Except for positions advertised “Until Filled”, all applications for employment must be received by 5:00 p.m. on the closing date. No exceptions will be made.
An incomplete application will be marked “INCOMPLETE” and will not be considered. It is very important that you provide as much information as possible about your skills, knowledge and abilities.

Veterans’ Preference Claim Form
Complete this section ONLY if you are claiming Veterans’ Preference. Veterans’ Preference is given to eligible veterans and spouses of veterans in accordance with Chapter 295, Florida Statutes. All applicants claiming Veterans’ Preference must complete this form and include a copy of your DD214, Certificate of Discharge or Separation from Active Duty, or equivalent certification which is to be submitted with your application/resume. Documentation of eligibility for veterans’ preference must be submitted with the completed application. The District will follow the requirements of Chapter 295, Florida Statutes and Chapter 55A-7, F.A.C., in determining eligibility for veterans’ preference.
Notification Regarding Social Security Numbers Collection and Usage
In compliance with Chapter 119.071(5), Florida Statutes, the District is providing you with notice that it may collect your social security number for the following legitimate employment business purposes: payroll eligibility verification, workers’ compensation claims reporting, enrollment in and processing of employment benefits provided to the vendor administering District benefits, pre-employment background check, drug screening and income reporting. The District will collect and use your social security number only for these purposes in performance of the District’s duties and responsibilities. Providing your social security number is a condition of employment at the District.
