Overview
The District acquired more than 250 acres of land with a direct connection to Wakulla Spring from E. Guy Revell, Jr., in 2020. In partnership with Wakulla County, the District cleared approximately three miles of walking/hiking/biking trails on 131 acres of the land. The conservation area, which features several karst features, is managed through a joint agreement with Wakulla County. There are two entrances to the trail system: 198 Maplewood Drive and 68 Saddletree Trail.
Environmental Importance
This property was acquired to help protect Wakulla Spring, a first magnitude spring located in Wakulla County. The property is located within the Wakulla Springs and Upper Wakulla River Basin Management Action Plan Priority Focus Area II.

Recreation Opportunities

- Revell Nature Trail Conservation Area, like all District lands, is open to the public for resource-based recreation.
- The Revell Conservation Area offers more than 3 miles of trails for hiking, biking, and jogging. Within a week of the conservation area’s opening, bird watchers had already reported counting 15 species of birds including the red-bellied woodpecker, red-tailed hawk, pileated woodpecker, blue-headed vireo, Eastern phoebe, ruby-crowned kinglet, and more.
