Approximately five miles south of Vernon off Highway 79, Hightower Landing Recreation Area is located on Holmes Creek and features a single, concrete boat ramp.
The site has parking for 10 vehicles with trailers. The landing also features a fire pit and portable toilet.
A short boardwalk offers a beautiful view of Hightower Spring and also provides an ideal spot for anglers to watch the fish chase their bait.
Canoe and kayak enthusiasts frequently take paddling trips down Holmes Creek, which is home to 57 documented springs.
Hightower Landing is approximately 9 miles downstream from Cotton Landing, making that stretch an ideal paddling excursion for those seeking more than a one- or two-hour trip.
