Bogia

Overview

Located approximately 35 miles north of Pensacola off Highway 29 and just south of the small town of McDavid, the Bogia Recreation Area features a small boat launch and picnic tables.

Bogia (pronounced “BO-gee-ah”) is a day-use only area and is open year-round sunrise to sunset.

The single-lane boat launch is ideally suited for canoes, kayaks, and small boats only and provides access to the Escambia River – the fourth-largest river in Florida and home to more than 85 native freshwater fish species.

The shoreline near the boat launch is worth exploring with a camera as cypress knees poking out of the Escambia River make for frame-worthy photographs.

• Picnicking, fishing, canoe launch, canoeing, hiking, wildlife viewing.

Restrictions

No ATV’s allowed.

Motorized vehicles allowed on designated roads only.
